Prof. Dr. Klaus Tochtermann, Director of the ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics and co-speaker of BERD@NFDI, has been elected President of the EOSC Association. His term begins on 1 July 2025.
With a strong track record in shaping open science policy and infrastructures, Tochtermann has played a key role in EOSC’s development from the start. As President, he will work to embed EOSC firmly in the EU’s future research agenda, ensure broad scientific representation, and advance transparent, sustainable governance.
The EOSC (European Open Science Cloud) is Europe’s major initiative to build a federated research data space, supported by €1 billion in funding through 2030.
